Building Support for Syringe Services Programs as Essential Services

Date and Time
July 28, 2020, 3:00 - 4:00pm EDT

Syringe services programs (SSPs) have long been recognized for their critical role in providing a range of services to people who use drugs. CDC recommends that SSPs be considered essential public health infrastructure during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, SSPs often experience backlash and challenges. During this webinar, we’ll provide:

  • an overview of what makes SSPs essential,
  • strategies for identifying and building support among various stakeholders, and
  • approaches to blending funding streams for SSP operations.
