The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in federal policy changes related to telehealth use that allowed states to maximize access to medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) through telehealth. Since then, state approaches to prescribing MOUD via telehealth have varied, with some states fully allowing telehealth prescribing; some fully banning it; and some sitting without any further guidance. This map illustrates the current telehealth MOUD state policies.
