This technical package, a collaborative effort between CDC and NASTAD, provides a broad framework as well as evidence-informed strategies and approaches to support the planning, design, implementation, and sustainability of new and existing syringe services programs (SSPs). Health departments, community-based organizations, and partners can use this resource to reduce harms related to injection drug use, ensure needs-based service delivery, and link participants to services that support their health and wellness. Please share widely with your networks and contact NASTAD’s Drug User Health team with questions or to request technical assistance on SSP implementation.
